Rose McGowan, who is a close friend of Asia Argento and the recently deceased celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, opened up and spoke about the unsuspected tragic suicide that took everyone by surprise.
In an honest letter, McGowan talked about the suffering that Argento had to go through in her life. The former actress mentioned the sexual harassment that Argento had suffered from Harvey Weinstein at one time.
According to McGowan, even though Bourdain’s girlfriend went through a rape, she is now faced with another significant obstacle — surviving the loss of a loved one.
Bourdain and Argento began their relationship in 2017 after the two of them met during the production of an episode of Parts Unknown in Rome, Italy. The two of them instantly hit it off and have helped each other in hard times since then.
McGowan also explained that even though both Bourdain and Argento were victims of depression, Argento did what she could over the course of the last year to receive help and continue living for the sake of her children. Bourdain on the other hand, could not battle with his depressive thoughts anymore.
The couple’s mutual friend also claimed that shortly before the suicide, the culinary icon had searched for professional help but did not follow what his doctor told him. Furthermore, McGowan asked fans of the deceased not to blame Argento for what had happened, as it was not her fault. She also referred to her friend as the perfect example of someone with so much strength, that she would do anything to take care of her children.
The former American TV star had to step out to defend her friend because she was being attacked for contributing to Bourdain’s death.
Days before the suicide, Argento was pictured dancing and holding hands with 28-year-old French reporter Hugo Clement in Rome.
Argento’s friends assert they had an open relationship, but critics say this information was never revealed in the past twelve months and Bourdain was infatuated with the 42-year-old mother of two.
