The remains of the culinary icon Anthony Bourdain have been cremated in less than a week after he committed suicide on the 8th of June.
So far, it is expected that the ashes of the famous chef will be transported to the United States from France on Friday.
Meanwhile, actress Asia Argento, who was Bourdain’s girlfriend, is expressing her sorrow by sharing the song “Jesus Was a Cross Maker” by Judee Sill.
An interesting fact about this particular track is that Sill also committed suicide at the age of 35.
Furthermore, Argento also shared a picture of herself where she has turned her back to the camera. The 42-year-old activist made the image quite mysterious by adding later the ciphered message “saved” to it.
The Italian actress was one of the first to express her pain on social media by sharing a heartfelt tribute for her partner.
The 61-year-old Bourdain’s body was found in his hotel room in France by his friend and colleague, Éric Ripert. Ripert has been collaborating with Bourdain on one of the upcoming episodes of his CNN food show Parts Unknown.
Apparently, Ripert started searching for his friend after he missed both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, even though they planned to dine together. When entering Bourdain’s room, Ripert found that the famous chef and host had hanged himself.
According to a statement issued by Christian De Rocquigny, the prosecutor of Colmar in France, Bourdain did not spend much time planning on his final act and no special preparations were made.
Rocquigny also explained that the appropriate tests would be made to determine if Bourdain was under the influence of drugs or other medications that may have prompted him to commit suicide.
The shocking death of Bourdain has given birth to a long list of conspiracy theories on social media. Many want to believe that there is more to what happened.
