For the first time since the tragic incident with her former lover, Anthony Bourdain, Italian actress and #MeToo activist Asia Argento has decided to open up about the situation and her own feelings and has shared her thoughts with the public.

She also shared some more private details of their relationship, some of which ended up being a bit shocking to the audience.

Argento claims that she is disappointed by the treatment she has been getting from all sides ever since the famous chef took his own life, explaining that she does not agree that she was in any way responsible for the death of Bourdain.

In response to the numerous claims that she was the factor that finally pushed him over the edge, Argento revealed that cheating was actually a regular part of their relationship and that both of them were fine with that situation.

The artist explained: “People say I murdered Anthony Bourdain. I cheated on him – but he cheated on me, too. It wasn’t a problem for us. But I understand that the world needs to find a reason. I would like to find a reason too. I don’t have it. Maybe I would feel some solace in thinking there was something that happened…”

She went on to describe how Bourdain’s busy schedule — as well as her own — made it difficult for the two to be together as often as they would have liked, and that created the inevitable situation where both were regularly cheating on each other.

However, there were no hurt feelings during the whole ordeal, according to Argento, and she does not agree with the accusations that she had anything to do with the tragic incident.

As can be expected, there is a huge divide in the public’s opinions about the situation, with many agreeing that Argento’s claims and showing sympathy for her, while others are more skeptical and critical of the celebrity, and maintain the position that she was primarily responsible for Bourdain’s suicide.
