After a recent news conference in Santa Ana, the Orange County District Attorney, Tony Rackauckas, revealed that an orthopedic surgeon from California, Grant W. Robicheaux and his associate, Cerissa Laura Riley, were arrested on September 12 for raping and drugging two women.

According to Rackauckas, investigators found enormous quantities of incriminating videos and photos on the physician’s phone and Riley was present in many of them.

In the materials found on the phone of the defendant, Robicheaux and Riley are shown physically assaulting women who are so intoxicated that they are unable to resist the sexual advances.

Rackauckas also added that based on the discovered evidence, it is believed that the number of victims may be much higher than two.

The 38-year-old surgeon is known for appearing in a former reality TV dating show called Online Dating Rituals of the American Male that aired on Bravo in 2014.

The attorney presented part of the episode of the show, in which the surgeon appeared.

Rackauckas explained their theory as “the defendants used their good looks and charm to lower the inhibitions of their potential prey.”

However, the investigation against Robicheaux and Riley, 31, began after two of their victims came forward.

One of the assaulted women was a 32-year-old who was invited to the physician’s apartment after partying with the couple on April 10, 2016. She was then intoxicated with multiple drugs and raped.

Later the same year, the defendants brought home an unconscious drunken woman, who they picked up earlier from a bar at Newport Beach.

While they were sexually assaulting their victim, the woman woke up and her screams for help brought the attention of the neighbors, who called the police.

Since the arrests, six more women have come forward with similar stories, and officials are investigating their claims.

Robicheaux could spend up to 40 years in state prison, and Riley faces a maximum sentence of 30 years and eight months.
