Nicolle Wallace and The View are more or less parting ways, according to several sources. An ABC insider claimed that Wallace could still make appearances on The View in the future. Candace Cameron Bure and Sherri Shepherd are also reportedly in talks about joining the daytime talk show.
Nicolle Wallace and The View are parting ways, and two familiar faces will be coming back, according to reports.
ABC has issued an official statement revealing that after just one season on The View, Nicolle Wallace, the former White House Communications Director, has been axed. However, it is not a real split because Wallace is expected to become a guest co-host on the show in the future.
So, why is Wallace no longer a permanent cast member on the talk show? Well, her fans can blame the Kardashians and the stars of The Bachelor.
An insider revealed that Wallace, a Republican, who worked for former President George W. Bush and the McCain–Palin campaign had little knowledge of the world of celebrities.
Furthermore, she did not get along with the staff. All of this drama might explain why Rosie Perez was fired from the show. According to the Daily Mail, Sherri Shepherd, who left the program in 2014, is set to return on a part-time basis. The publication said:
“Daily Mail Online has learned exclusively that the Emmy-winning TV talent has inked a deal with ABC, according to sources close to the show, to return to struggling daytime talk show on a part-time basis starting this fall.”
The piece goes on to say:
“Shepherd is one of The View’s new rotating hosts that will sit in the fifth position on the show, a new concept ABC hopes brings fresh energy to the long-running panel series. According to an insider, the current plans are to have Shepherd co-host at least twice a week.”
Candace Cameron Bure is expected to join Sherri Shepherd, Raven-Symoné, controversial moderator Whoopi Goldberg and newcomer Michelle Collins.
The insider claimed that Wallace was replaced by Bure because:
“ABC is considering someone less compassionate in their presentation like Candace.”
ABC is planning a big reveal for the new hosts of The View goes in August.
