Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman are in “deep grief” after the death of the actress’ father and renowned psychologist Dr Antony Kidman. Via Facebook, Urban announced that he had to cancel his upcoming concert in order to fly to Australia for the funeral.

Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman have been bit by “deep grief” after the sudden death of the movie star’s father Dr Antony Kidman.

Dr Antony Kidman, a famous Australian psychologist died on Friday while visiting his daughter Antonia, his son-in-law Craig Marran and six grandchildren in Singapore, according to Examiner.

Urban’s father-in-law suffered a heart attack while he was having breakfast at the Tanglin Club. Dr Antony Kidman was eating alone after his routine work out.

According to reports, Kidman, 75, died before even seeing his daughter.

The country music star who was supposed to perform at the Washington State Fair on September 12, explained that he had to cancel for his family was in a state of deep grief after the tragedy. The American Idol judge wrote:

“I’m so very sorry that I cannot perform this weekend. We are in a deep state of grief at the passing of Nic’s Father.”

In a press release, officials from the Washington State Fair have announced that the Keith Urban performance has been postponed to Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015.

Kidman who learned the passing of her father while she was at home in Nashville, has traveled to Sydney, Australia with Urban to be with her family.

The actress’ sister Antonia has also been spotted Down Under. Mr Kidman was the director of the Royal North Shore Hospital’s Health Psychology Unit and director of the Health Psychology Unit at the University of Technology in Sydney.

Kidman’s work was praised by many of his peers including Judy Proudfoot, an Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales and director of e-health at the Black Dog Institute who said:

“In addition to his clinical work, one of Tony’s great strengths was his ability to take psychological theory and research and convert it into very clear practical self-help advice and strategy. His series of self-help books changed the lives of thousands of people around the world.”

In June, the doctor accompanied Kidman and Urban to the Swisse Celebrate Life Ball in Melbourne where the mother of four said she was proud to show off her brilliant and loving father to world.
