Adele Ellen prank

Pop music’s reigning queen Adele and comedian Ellen DeGeneres got together and pulled an amusing prank. Unsuspecting Jamba Juice employees were at the receiving end of the joke. The pre-taped segment aired on the Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday.

The “When We Were Young” diva, who was in contact with DeGeneres through an earpiece, showed the world that she could make it as an actress. Adele entered a Jamba Juice located on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California accompanied by an actress, who was hired by the 58-year-old television host. The actress agreed to play Simone, Adele’s assistant, who went inside the location before her arrival and asked employees to treat the British superstar like an ordinary person.

When Adele finally got there, DeGeneres instructed her to make some pretty unusual requests. The employee stayed calm the whole time, but Adele’s behavior grew weirder with time. At some point, she even finds herself eating wheatgrass and saying “I feel like a deer in a forest!” The prank ended with Adele telling the employees:

“I’ll tell Ellen DeGeneres to pay because she’s been telling me what to say.”

This fun moment was a welcome distraction for the 27-year-old “Hello” vocalist days after facing technical difficulties at the 58th Grammy Awards while performing “All I Ask.” During her appearance on the talk show, the mother of one explained:

“I cried pretty much all day yesterday. In fairness, I would have cried if it went really well as well. If it was a standout performance, I would have cried as well. I always cry! But yeah, I kept spontaneously bursting into tears yesterday.”

Fans of the singer were pleased to see their favorite artist doing better and having some fun. The prank reminded the world why Adele has a unique spot in popular culture at the moment.
