Goldie Hawn disliked Kurt Russell’s Hateful Eight hair because he had to live with it for over a year. At the premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, Hawn revealed that she did not see Russell’s lips for almost a year and a half because he had to keep his thick mustache and long hair.

Goldie Hawn loves Kurt Russell – but not his Hateful Eight hair and mustache. At the Los Angeles premiere of Hateful Eight, Hawn did several interviews where she revealed how hard it was to live with Russell’s overbearing facial hair and long locks.

Talking to ET, the Butterflies Are Free actress revealed that after being with Russell for 33 years she has seen him change looks countless times and that thick mustache he had to grow for Quentin Tarantino‘s epic western was one of her least favorites.

The Everyone Says I Love You star said the massive facial hair made it impossible to see Russell’s lips and, therefore, it was very hard for them to kiss. Asked how did the facial hair affect her life, she revealed that it was not for fashion, it was a “was a lifestyle.” She explained:

“It was like, ‘Where are those lips?” I didn’t see them for a year and a half.”

The Hateful Eight, which also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Jennifer Jason Leigh takes place after the Civil War in Wyoming, and focuses on eight strangers, who seek refuge in a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass during a blizzard. Russell plays John Ruth, aka “The Hangman,” a bounty hunter known for hanging fugitives he captures.

While on the red carpet, Russell was asked to comment on the ring on Hawn’s finger. After three decades together, were they finally ready to walk down the aisle? Russell explained:

“No, unfortunately for those who have to hear yes I do not have good news. I was talking to Goldie last night, I said “I really should have some fun thing to say. I have none. They trot that out every four or five years and now that we’re 400 years old.”‘

Thrilled not to have that facial hair between them, Russell and Hawn revealed that the family was going to spend the holidays in Aspen, Colorado. Hawn shared:

“That’s our homestead. That’s where Santa comes.”

Russell added:

“We have five grandkids now, so they love it there.”

The Hateful Eight comes out in limited release on Christmas Day and opens in theaters everywhere else on January 8.
