Is Teresa Giudice lying to her children? The answer to this question is yes, if a new rumor is to be believed. According to reports, the star of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey, who will start her 15-month prison sentence on January 5, is telling her two youngest daughters that she is going “to work.”

RadarOnline reports that Teresa Giudice is lying to her daughters, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 4, because she thinks that they are too young to understand what is happening to the family.

The mother of four has been honest with her two other children, Gia, 13, and Gabriella, 10. The celebrity news website spoke to a source and here is what the person said:

“Teresa and Joe are telling the girls that she is going away to work.”

Another insider gave more insight on the plot to keep Milania and Audriana in the dark about the situation, the person explained:

“She told them she is going to jail to work on a book about jail.”

It may seem like a big lie on the surface, but we would not be surprised to find out that Teresa Giudice is secretly hoping to turn her prison trip into a success story à la Orange Is the New Black.

The author of the book, “Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison,” Piper Kerman, who spent 13 months at FCI Danbury, a minimum security prison located in Danbury, Connecticut on felony money-laundering charge in 2004, is a living proof that such redemption is possible.

The 2010 memoir was turned into the highly successful Netflix TV series, Orange Is the New Black, which is critically-acclaimed for its honest depiction of life in prison. The reality TV star will also be at FCI Danbury.

The 42-year-old television personality might be lying to her kids, but she spent the holiday season taking good care of them, and of husband, Joe Giudice, who will spend 41 months in prison after his wife is done with her sentence.

Joe and Teresa Giudice were both convicted in October on fraud charges. This grim reality did not get in the couple’s way during the holidays, an insider told Us Weekly:

“Teresa spent New Year’s with the girls and her family. Joe has been pulling special bottles of wine for her and she has been cooking a ton.”

Is Teresa Giudice lying to her kids? Yes, but it could be to protect them, unless she is still in some form of denial. What say you?
