Nita Moseley Dead: Teen Son Faces Murder Charge In Pregnant Texas Mother’s Death

Nita Moseley dies, and her teenage son is accused of killing her. According to the police, the 14-year-old boy murdered Moseley in her Texas home. She was four months pregnant. As authorities investigate the matter, Moseley’s criminal record is being used against her to point out that she was a bad mother, allegedly, of course.

Nita Moseley, 33, has died, and it has been confirmed that her 14-year-old son is the alleged killer. On Saturday, an unnamed neighbor, who was driving in front of Moseley’s home in La Marque, Texas, noticed that her front door was wide open and decided to check on her.

The neighbor discovered a gruesome scene – Moseley’s body was lying in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor. Moseley was four months pregnant at the time of her death. It is also believed that she was murdered on Wednesday. The man told local reporters:

“Saturday morning, when I drive by and I saw the door open, that’s when I figured something was wrong. I thought maybe someone had broken in the house or something and that’s when I found the unfortunate event that happened. She was four months pregnant. She was pretty happy-go-lucky. Didn’t have a lot of drama in her life.”

According to Texas authorities, Moseley’s son, whose name has not been revealed, is accused of the horrible crime. The young boy, a bright football player, was found in Houston and has been cooperating with the police. He apparently fled the scene using his mother’s car. The man went on to add:

“He seemed like a good kid but then again, I guess you just never know, you really don’t. This is the first time anything ever happened like this in this neighborhood. Like I said, it’s been a nice neighborhood as long as I’ve lived here.”

Moseley’s son, who allegedly committed the crime alone, has been charged with first-degree murder. Kevin Petroff, Galveston County first assistant district attorney, stated that the teen will be held for ten days. Betty Simons, Nita Moseley’s sister, issued a statement on the family’s behalf that read:

“My family is grieving, they are hurt. They all feel just lost without her. There’s nothing bad to say about her. She was beautiful, and smart, and so easy to love.I just want everybody to know that she (Moseley) was beautiful and that she loved, loved her son more than anything in the world. People need to know that. No matter what they’re hearing, she loved him.”

According to the police, an autopsy for Nita Moseley will be performed today. The teen’s father, who did not wish to have his identity revealed, shared:

“My son is a good kid who was dealt a bad deck of cards. This is a story that will let people know that families need to stick together. When they don’t, this is the kind of thing that takes place.”

Court documents show that Moseley had few run-ins with the law. At 17, she was emancipated, the following year, she “became embroiled in a legal dispute over the paternity and custody of a son.” More on Nita Moseley’s alleged past:

During the lengthy court battle Child Protective Services took custody of the boy, and Moseley was accused of having “a history or pattern of child neglect.” She was accused of assault on a family member in 2004, although charges were dropped and of theft of less than $500 in 2005 and made restitution.

She also falsely reported to police in 2009 that her boyfriend struck her and had pornography on his computer. In 2010, Moseley was charged with assault on her husband, who later obtained a restraining order. That same year she was arrested on a drunken driving charge. Between 2001 and 2015, a court ordered her to forfeit her bond at least five times for failure to appear in court.

Moseley also struggled financially. Records show that she was sued twice for failing to pay her rent.

As usual, reality seems more nuanced, in a photo found on social media, posted in July, the mother and her son are seen smiling. By all accounts, Moseley was trying to get on the right track.
