Marie Holmes: Powerball Winner Gets Fiancé Lamarr McDow Out Of Jail Again

Marie Holmes, a Powerball winner, who had promised to focus on her children, is instead spending millions of dollars to keep her criminal of a fiancé named Lamarr McDow, AKA Hot Sauce, out of trouble. Since winning $188 million, Holmes has forked over almost $10 million in bail money and lawyer fees to keep Hot Sauce a free man.

Marie Holmes is wasting all of her Powerball winnings on her fiancé, who is unable to stay out of trouble. Back in February, Holmes, a 26-year-old unemployed North Carolina mother of four children between the ages of 9 months and 7 years melted hearts with the humble list of what she had planned to do after winning her share of the $564 million Powerball jackpot.

As one of the three winners, Holmes, who had worked at Walmart, Food Lion, KFC and Subway, was given $188 million, and she decided to pocket the lump sum of $88 million. Appearing on several media outlets, Holmes said her faith made it possible for her to fight as a single mother to raise Brayden, Charisma, Andrea, and Ebony, (one suffers from cerebral palsy). She said she was going to donate to her church and buy a home for her family because she was sharing an apartment with several people who had been previously convicted on drug-related charges.

Days after becoming a millionaire, one of her roommates, Lamarr McDow, AKA Hot Sauce, who was later revealed to be her fiancé, was released on bail. McDow, who was arrested on heroin charges in November of 2014, was freed on a $3 million bond.

In July, Mr. Hot Sauce was arrested a second time, for failing to respect a curfew. During the arrest, police discovered an illegally-owned weapon and drugs. This time around, the loving fiancée was forced to sign a $6 million check to get McDow out of jail.

After being blasted for wasting her fortune on a man, who is unwilling to change his ways and for still having her children in a home with a drug dealer, Holmes took to Facebook to defend herself. She wrote:

“What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y’all how?.

She added:

“And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody? I will definitely pray for Y’all because it’s much need…they talked about Jesus so I’m not surprised Y’all are talking about me but be blessed though.”

On Monday, McDow was arrested for the third time because he had a gun while being a convicted felon. The bail was set at $10,000 and once more Holmes paid to have him quickly released from jail.
