A Kim Kardashian controversy is brewing. Photoshop allegations have also been confirmed by the editor of Paper magazine. When the pictures of Mrs Kim Kardashian West in the latest issue of Paper surfaced, the internet went wild.

Some blasted North West‘s mom for revealing too much, few mocked her with hilarious memes and others wondered, how many hours of Photoshopping did it take to make her look like that? The answer is several hours.

Mickey “Mr. Mickey” Boardman, who is the editorial director of the mag, spoke to US Magazine where he confessed that the reality TV icon’s figure was retouched. Boardman said:

“Every cover of every magazine is airbrushed on some level.”

Boardman gave the following unnecessary information about the spread. Kardashian’s body was “oiled up” by her friend and makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic, and legendary French photographer Jean-Paul Goude, who is a genius with lighting, made the pictures appear amazing.

The editor went on to share that Kim Kardashian’s famous butt is totally authentic, he explained:

“But what I will say, is that is her butt. It is not padded. It is not augmented. That is all really her. But, yes, there was retouching to clean things up and make things look amazing. That’s what retouching is. It’s not building an ass that isn’t there or taking 50 pounds off the waist.”

According to Boardman, Monsieur Jean-Paul Goude was interested in recreating his 1976 picture titled “The Champagne Incident,” which originally featured model, Carolina Beaumont, but after talking to Kim Kardashian, they decided to go further. Boardman added:

“There was some ass-related thing that was proposed but we weren’t sure what was going to happen. We were really just planning on recreating the [famous] champagne shot…but she came in and was like, ‘Let’s, you know, let’s just go there!’ She and Jean-Paul just got into it with each other and got excited. She’s not shy about taking her clothes off, and the next thing [we knew], magic was happening.”

Kim Kardashian was a pleasure to work with and is not afraid to reveal her body, according to the editor. Reports have surfaced claiming that Kardashian decided to do the sexy and risque Paper shoot because she is trying to get pregnant, and wanted to have some fun before giving North a sibling.

According to Examiner, it was Kardashian’s idea to go naked, she wanted to “break the internet” and she was not even paid to do it. Goude said:

“Kim’s attitude was ‘if we’re gonna do it, let’s do it, let’s really go there.’ And it was her idea to take off her clothes and show more than her butt. But we [Paper] didn’t say ‘let’s do a cover with your butt hanging out.’ She said she was willing to take her clothes off and one thing led to another, and history in the making!”

The Kim Kardashian controversy also has to do with the fact that photographer Jean-Paul Goude has a long history of using women of color in outrage fashion for his pictures. Some people find that his shoot with Kim continues in that long tradition of blatantly flirting with racism.

Beaumont, the model from the original photo, is black and those commentators always believed the imagery was tainted with racial insensitivity. Kim’s close association to African-Americans makes the new images also a bit racist, these critics suggest.

No one involved in the shoot has responded to the racism charge.

What are your thoughts on this Kim Photoshop scandal? Is the editor right about her authentic bottom? What say you about the Kim Kardashian controversy regarding race?
