Jessa Duggar’s first kiss did not take place at her wedding ceremony. Duggar and Ben Seewald surprised those who attended their wedding by opting not to have a public first kiss.

Jessa Duggar First Kiss

Jessa Duggar‘s first kiss was several minutes after she officially became Mrs Ben Seewald. More than 1000 guests gathered for Duggar and Seewald’s wedding over the weekend.

During the ceremony, which took place at Bentonville, Arkansas, on Saturday, friends and family quickly learned that it was not a traditional Duggar wedding.

After pastor Mike Schadt pronounced the pair, husband and wife, they shocked the guests by not sharing their first kiss. Instead, Duggar and Seewald, left and went into a private room where they spent several minutes.

Turning to the crowd, Schadt revealed that the new husband and wife had decided to have a private first kiss. The pastor said:

“They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private. It was important to the both of them.”

Schadt took the decision to ask Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar to share a kiss. The religious man jokingly said:

“So, now you’ve seen a Duggar kiss.”

After having some alone time, the newlyweds emerged from the room and joined their guests for the reception. During the celebration, Mr and Mrs Ben Seewald, shared several passionate kisses and posed for pictures.

The first kiss was not the only surprising thing at the wedding. Jessa Duggar, 21, and Ben Seewald, 19, also wrote their own wows.

The bride and groom opted not to have a traditional wedding cake. Guests enjoyed ice cream, sundaes and candy, cookies and brownies.

Duggar, who wore a blush gown with a beaded bodice of Swarovski crystals and pearls, explained:

“I don’t really like cake.We wanted ice cream sundaes instead.”

The unconventional Ben Seewald and Jessa Duggar first kiss will be featured in a special episode of 19 Kids and Counting.
