Blake Shelton Attacks In Touch Over Rehab Cover Story

Blake Shelton and the publishers at In Touch are locked in a court battle that could cost millions. Via his lawyers, Mr. Shelton has brought a $2 million lawsuit against the magazine claiming that it falsely reported that he entered rehab after cheating on his estranged wife, Miranda Lambert.

Blake Shelton and his attorneys have filed documents in the Los Angeles County Superior Court demanding that the owners of In Touch magazine sign a large check for spreading lies. Court records showed that the “Boys ‘Round Here” singer is demanding $2 million from Bauer Publishing Company and Bauer Media Group over two stories that appear in the newest issue of the publication.

Countless anonymous sources are quoted in the stories claiming that Mr. Shelton and his now estranged wife, Miranda Lambert, decided to get a divorce after she discovered that he was cheating on her with a younger woman.

The insiders also revealed that the country star hit rock bottom since the shocking split and has been forced to enter rehab. The tabloid claimed that The Voice judge had a drinking problem and decided to seek help to save his career.

According to the magazine, it is “REHAB For Blake” as “He Finally Hits Rock Bottom.” The juicy article revealed that friends feared that Shelton was going to end up like Lamar Odom, who has been battling many demons including drugs and alcohol and was found unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel.

One unnamed pal said that Shelton’s drinking problem made him feel “terrified that he could end up dead,” and was eager to see him get the help that he desperately needs. The entertainer’s attorneys have denied the allegations in a statement that read:

“Neither drinking nor womanizing contributed to Mr. Shelton’s divorce from Mrs. Lambert.”

The representatives went on to add:

“To be clear: Mr. Shelton has not hit rock bottom and In Touch of published the story without reaching out to the singer or his lawyers or other representatives.”

The lawsuit revealed that Shelton requested that the story be retracted, but the magazine never replied. A spokesperson for In Touch has refused to comment on the lawsuit.
