Nicole Mayhew from Saratoga Springs, Utah said that as she sat in her office, she felt the urge to return home and she did, and this is where she found her husband, Scott Mayhew, pinned under his SUV, which had fallen off its jack.
A wife saves her husband from under an SUV, and the heroic story makes headlines. Was it God? A woman’s intuition? Alternatively, maybe good old luck? According to Nicole Mayhew from Saratoga Springs, Utah, all of the above led to her saving the man of her life.
Last week, Nicole Mayhew went to work and left her husband, Scott Mayhew, working on his SUV in the family’s garage. Talking to local media outlets, Nicole said that she was unable to finish any tasks at her job for she was overcome by a strange feeling that something was terribly wrong at home. The woman explained:
“I had this feeling come over me that I needed to go home and check on my husband.”
Mrs. Mayhew followed her intuition and rushed back to her residence. When the wife arrived in her driveway, she heard a faint voice pleading for help. According to the mother of four, her 43-year-old husband was trapped under the family’s SUV for almost two hours when it slipped off the jack and crushed him.
Nicole Mayhew shared:
“I was scared, but since I could hear him, I knew he was still alive. I kind of heard him say, ‘Help me, love.'”
Mayhew called 911 and asked her neighbors for help, and they were able to remove the man from beneath the car. The man was rushed to Utah University Hospital, where doctors discovered that he had suffered six broken ribs but is expected to make a full recovery.
Chad Pate, one of the paramedics, added that the wife arrived just in time. Pate said:
“I consider him extremely lucky.I really think with her coming home as fast as she did in the time that she did, he could have lost his life had he been under the car much longer than that.”
Talking from his hospital bed, Mr. Mayhew claimed that it was a divine intervention that caused his wife to come home just in time to save his life. The man said he is the luckiest man on earth and is so happy to have married such a strong woman. The husband stated:
“There was a lot of pain. I felt the car crushing me.I just knew if I hung on long enough, my prayers would be answered and she would know to come home.”
The wife concluded the interview by saying that she thinks God was watching that day, and she is grateful. She shared:
“I just believe a spirit told me.I believe that there’s angels around us. My Heavenly Father was with him.”
