Wealthy Couple On Welfare Collected Over $135,000 – David Silverstein and Lyudmila Shimonova are being sued by the U.S. attorney’s office for collecting over $135,000 in government financial aid while residing in a $1.2 million beach house and taking luxurious trips all over the world.

According to documents filed by federal authorities, the Seattle couple was able to trick the government into giving them Section 8 housing assistance by falsely claiming that they were making only $5,000 a year.

The wealthy duo who traveled to Moscow, Paris, Israel, Turkey, Mexico and the Dominican Republic with their two children were able to collect thousands from Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program and Social Security due to their age.

Silverstein’s lawyer, David Allen has declined to comment on the case.

As for Michael Radyshewsky, the federal welfare fraud investigator who caught the scammers, he is asking that the pair return the money they received and pay up to $11,000 in fines.
