Customer Gives Waiter Smile, Teeth Via $25,000 Tip

A waiter is happy to smile after getting new teeth from a generous customer. Brian Maixner, a waiter at the Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita, Kansas is thrilled to share his new smile with the world, after Fred Boettcher, a wealthy customer, decided to pay $25,000 worth of surgeries for him to fix his dental issues. This is not the first time Boettcher is spending thousands of dollars for a stranger to get new teeth.

Waiter Smile Teeth Customer

The viral term “waiter smile teeth customer” may be weird to some, but it makes perfect sense for those who know Brian Maixner. In January, a generous and wealthy attorney named Fred Boettcher, and his family decided to grab a meal at Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita, Kansas, according to The Inquisitr.

Boettcher, who lives in Ponca City, Oklahoma, was in town to see his daughter. The attorney told local media that a waiter named Brian Maixner served them with kindness and a memorable smile.

But Mr Boettcher was a bit surprised to see the state of the waiter’s teeth. The lawyer explained:

“He was just so gregarious—it was unusual, even for a waiter. He has a smile that was from ear to ear. But you should have seen his teeth, they were horrible. It just struck me.”

Boettcher, who had suffered severe dental problems as a child and went through numerous operations to resolve the matter, decided to help. He spoke to Timirie Shibley, who owns the Doo-Dah Diner and asked her if Brian Maixner would accept his proposition to pay for his dental work.

Shibley shared the conversation with the media:

“He said he could tell Brian was a very special person and he wanted to know if Brian would be offended if he offered to pay for his dental issues. Needless to say, I was floored. I immediately accepted on Brian’s behalf.”

When Shibley explained to the hard-working single father what Boettcher was giving him – he broke down and cried.

The waiter gladly accepted the offer and has been seeing Boettcher’s dentist, Phillip Tyndall, in Ponca City, Oklahoma for the pricey surgeries that have thus far cost $25,000.

Tyndall pulled out all the bad teeth and gave the waiter a new set of dentures. He has to come back in about six to eight months once the bone heals, so the dentist can replace the dentures with dental implants, which will be paid by the kind customer.

Brian Maixner, who is ecstatic with his new smile, confessed:

“Oh my gosh, I just keep staring in the mirror and going, ‘Wow,’. It just makes such a huge difference. Before, I was conscious about my smile, not that I could stop it. Even when my teeth were bad, I still smiled.”

Last week, the Doo-Dah Diner posted a picture of Brian Maixner’s new smile on its Facebook page and he has become a local celebrity. It has also been revealed that Boettcher has helped another person who could not afford to pay for his dental procedures.

  1. The young man had dental P R O B L E M S : NOT ISSUES! ISSUES are something you get when you subscribe to a periodical. What in the hell does the world have with the word “PROBLEM”? It’s not an obscenity; It’s not racist; sexist; elitist; or any other “ist”. WHY is everyone so afraid of it?

    1. What a generous man to do this. His teeth are beautiful. Kind of in the same boat. He has literally changed this man’s life. There truly are wonderful people around.

  2. well, good to hear that they are still good, decent humans on the planet Earth whom will help out fellow humans

  3. I’m happy that stories like this one are published. We need to be reminded that there is still some good left in this world and that people like this lawyer are doing good things on to others. Just because we can’t give $25,000 to change someones life, don’t mean we can’t help. Feed someone hungry, help someone on the side of the road, or participate donating to organizations to help people in need like cancer or feed the hungry are just some examples of the many that we can help make a change. I for one plan to take this with me and look for atleast 1 way to help others. Thank you for reminding me that I too wish to make a difference and not be selfish.

  4. 1st positive story I’ve read in quite a while. Way to pay it forward and be generous to your fellow person.
