Top Gear season 22 was cancelled after host Jeremy Clarkson‘s suspension. Earlier this week, in a brief statement released by BBC, it was revealed that controversial television personality Jeremy Clarkson was being suspended indefinitely for an unknown reason.

The British media rapidly started digging to find out what the “unknown reason” was. It was discovered that while filming an episode of Top Gear season 22, the host struck repeatedly Oisin Tymon, who is one of the show’s producers.

What caused the Top Gear host to lose his temper this time?

The answer is allegedly food. Several sources claimed that Clarkson got angry because the catering service failed to give him the large meal that he requested.

The angry and hungry man attacked Oisin Tymon, the producer, who hired the food catering service. The television network said in its statement that “fracas” between Clarkson and Tymon lead to the fight. The statement read:

“Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. We will be making no further comment at this time.”

As a result of Clarkson’s suspension, BBC has decided to cancel the remaining 3 episodes of season 22 of Top Gear. Instead of asking the host to apologize, fans of the show have started a petition, demanding he immediately gets his gig back.

The petition called “Bring Back Clarkson,” which simply reads, “We the undersigned petition the BBC to reinstate Jeremy Clarkson.Freedom to fracas,” has more than more than 650,000 signatures.

One British woman, who is angry that Top Gear season 22 was cancelled, said:

“I pay my TV license to ensure that irreverent people can express themselves. If you become boarding and politically correct, you may disappear BBC.”

This is not the first time, BBC has been embarrassed by Clarkson’s behavior. He once stated that Mexicans were lazy and when asked to apologize, he said the show did not air in Mexico.

He insulted Indians by traveling to India with his own potty because he feared the illnesses the people carried.

Top Gear season 22 cancelled, has some wondering if Clarkson could lose his job in the future. What are your thoughts on the way BBC handled this crisis?
