Tom Hopfinger Alaska Dispatch Reporter Detained By Joe Miller Guards
Tom Hopfinger Alaska Dispatch Reporter Detained By Joe Miller Guards – An Alaskan reporter found himself in handcuffs at a Joe Miller event, after he claims that he was just doing his job. The reporter, Tony Hopfinger, said that he was trying to ask candidate Joe Miller whether or not he had ever gotten into trouble for politicking whilst he was working for the Fairbanks North Star Borough in 2008. No sooner had he asked the question than security guards decided to bump their chests into the reporter in order to stop him from asking any more questions, so the reporter said.
As soon as they had bumped into him, the security guards had Hopfinger up against a wall and in handcuffs. The reporter said that it was like a car crash and he had no idea what had just happen. However, the security guard who handcuffed Hopfinger painted a very different picture of the events. He said that the reporter repeatedly pushed a camera into the face of Joe Miller. He then added that Hopfinger was being aggressive.
The security guard went on to add that he had warned the reporter that he needed to stop trespassing, and because the reporter failed to take note of the warnings, the only option was for him to be detained. The only people who know the true story of what actually happened are the reporter and the security guard, but both of them tell a different story so we will probably never know.
