Stephanie Seymour Applies For Rehab Program After DUI Charge
Stephanie Seymour, a former model and actress, may stay out of jail if she takes part in an alcohol counseling program. Last month, a very drunk Seymour caused two accidents in Connecticut and fled both scenes.
Stephanie Seymour, 47, will not be spending a night behind bars if she accepts and completes an alcohol counseling program. Earlier today, the former model appeared in front of a judge in Stamford, Connecticut, to answer to a DUI charge.
Thanks to her brilliant lawyer, the judge offered the former Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated model the chance of a lifetime – she gets no jail time if she participates “in an accelerated rehabilitation program for alcohol.”
If the mother of four completes the program, the charges will be eliminated. The Pollock actress made headlines on January 15 after she was arrested for drunk driving. The Hell: A Cyberpunk Thriller star crashed her black SUV into a utility pole on Stanwich Road in Greenwich, fled the scene, and later backed into a white Mercedes at a stop sign on an Interstate 95 south exit ramp.
According to the police, Seymour’s eyes were “bloodshot and she was unsteady on her feet” and her breath smelled like alcohol. She fought with authorities when she was asked to take a field sobriety test, and it took several requests before she finally showed proper documentation such as her ID and license.
For the first accident, she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and unsafe backing. If she completes the program, all charges will be dropped – Seymour is due back in court on April 4.
For the second incident, authorities charged Seymour with evading responsibility and failure to drive in a proper lane. She is due in court on the Greenwich charges later this month.
In 2009, Stephanie Seymour was in the news for her bitter divorce from husband and billionaire, Peter M. Brant, after almost 14 years of marriage. The businessman and childhood friend of Donald Trump claimed that Seymour was a bad mother to their three children – Peter II, Harry, and Lily Margaret – and stated that she was a drug addict and alcoholic.
