A Sean Penn note sent to Madonna after an exciting performance at the Madison Square Garden touched the Queen of Pop and her fans in an epic way.

Penn and his model daughter, Dylan Penn, were spotted at Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour second show in New York City on Thursday. The talented actor took Dylan backstage and introduced her to his ex-wife after the concert. It seems that the two-time Oscar winner had a great time because he decided to write a note to congratulate the “Give Me All Your Luvin'” singer for the great show.

Madonna was very touched by what Penn wrote and shared some of it with her fans two days later at the Barclays Center. The mother of four explained:

“I did a show at Madison Square Garden the other night if you heard about it. And my ex-husband was there! Could you imagine? He had been at my show 30 years earlier when I was at Madison Square Garden, and he was very upset with me for wearing a costume that was too revealing. That’s not a lie! Anyway, after the show he wrote me a letter and said he finally appreciates my art. And that is what I have to say about marriage, OK? Thirty f**king years later.”

Madonna and Sean Penn got married in 1985 and divorced in 1989. Penn went on to marry Robin Wright, the mother of his two children – Dylan, 24, and 22-year-old Hopper Penn. The Milk actor and Wright divorced in 2010 after 14 years.

In related Sean Penn news, he is suing Empire co-creator Lee Daniels for comparing some of his past problems with women to Terrence Howard‘s alleged history of domestic abuse. Daniels defended the Empire star by saying:

“[Terrence] ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f—in’ demon. That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.”

The comments did not sit well with Penn’s lawyers, who filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit against the Oscar-nominated director. The suit claims:

“Daniels falsely equates Penn with Howard, even though, while he has certainly had several brushes with the law, Penn (unlike Howard) has never been arrested, much less convicted, for domestic violence, as his ex-wives (including Madonna) would confirm and attest.”

What are your thoughts on the Sean Penn lawsuit against Lee Daniels? Should Madonna and Penn get back together?
