Ricki Lake Show Cancelled
Ricki Lake fans were sad to find out earlier this week that her TV show was getting cancelled.
“The Ricki Lake Show” started airing in September 2012 and will not be returning for the 2013-2014 television season.
Lake who is already looking forward to her future endeavors issued a statement after the cancellation news was made official, the “Hairspray” actress stated:
“I am so proud of the shows we completed this season, sparking important conversations about everything from raising children to mental illness to suicide prevention to coming out. I will continue to be an active and passionate voice for subjects that are close to my heart, through a variety of platforms — and a return to my documentary filmmaking work with Abby Epstein. I am excited to create meaningful and provocative films similar to our 2007 project, ‘The Business of Being Born.’”
Production for “The Ricki Lake Show” will continue trough March 28. It joins “Anderson Live” and Jeremy Kyle’s show on the list of daytime shows that recently got cancelled.
On the other hand, Katie Couric and Steve Harvey saw their respective talk shows renewed for a second season.
