PlayStation Phone Rumor: Is PSP Phone Prototype Real? – Pictures of a prototype for the PlayStation mobile phone have been released on the internet, prompting fans to ask whether the new gadget is set for a Christmas release date. It was originally thought that the PlayStation phone would be released at some point in two thousand and ten, but critics say that two thousand and eleven is more likely for a release date. It is thought that the new gadget will run on Android 3.0, which is one of the most powerful platforms available.

It is said that it will also have the standard PlayStation controls as well as a touch pad. If the rumors are true, then this will be the first handset released by Sony Ericsson that runs on Android. It is also said that there will be a new section in the Android market place for PSP Android games. It has been suggested that some of the most popular games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be made available for the device.

According to reports, the original plan was to get the PlayStation smart phone ready for a Christmas release, but critics say that this will be a push to get everything ready in time. Whenever it is released it is sure to be some serious competition for the likes of the iPhone, and other smart phones available on the market. There have been reports to suggest that this is all rumor, but Sony declined to comment on the matter stating that they don’t comment on rumor or speculation.
