Obama Climate Change Address: President Calls Climate Change A Great Threat To The Planet

An Obama climate change address has some Republicans in an uproar. In his Weekly Address, President Barack Obama announced that climate change is the greatest threat to the planet, he urged Americans to take the matter seriously and push their representatives to act. In honor of Earth’s Day, on Wednesday, Obama will travel to the Florida Everglades where he will deliver a speech hoping to sway climate change deniers.

An upcoming Obama climate change speech is already being blasted. On Saturday, President Barack Obama shared his Weekly Address YouTube video where he has a habit of tackling important matters like the various wars America is fighting, the economy, immigration, women’s rights and economic equality.

This week, POTUS decided to address the important issue of climate change. In the brief speech entitled “Climate Change Can No Longer Be Ignored,” President Obama began by reminding viewers that Wednesday, April 22, is Earth Day and urged them to appreciate our planet and take actions to protect it.

The father of two went on to point out that 2014 was the hottest year on record and took a shot at Republicans who often say that climate change is a made up thing by the left. Obama said:

“2014 was the planet’s warmest year on record. Fourteen of the 15 hottest years on record have all fallen in the first 15 years of this century. This winter was cold in parts of our country – as some folks in Congress like to point out – but around the world, it was the warmest ever recorded.”

In his climate change address, Obama forcefully stated:

“Climate change can no longer be denied, or ignored.”

Malia Obama and Sasha Obama‘s father went on to plead with Americans to acknowledge the fact that stronger storms have hit the Caribbean, California has been suffering from deeper droughts and many European countries have been affected by longer wildfire seasons. Obama shared:

“This is the only planet we’ve got. And years from now, I want to be able to look our children and grandchildren in the eye and tell them that we did everything we could to protect it.”

President Barack Obama has used his executive authority to mandate action on climate change. Obama has ordered the federal government to reduce its greenhouse emissions by 26 million metric tons by 2025.

The move is more or less insignificant because America is the second largest greenhouse gas emitter after China – its total carbon footprint was about 7 billion metric tons in 2013.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Obama have also worked on a deal to fight climate change. There is another Obama climate change speech set for next week.

Mr. Obama has announced that for Earth’s Day, he will visit the Florida Everglades, a region known for its tropical wetlands, where he will talk about how climate change has affected the area.

He will also explain how climate change poses immediate risks to America’s national security and its economy. Some say the Obama climate change speech is all about dividing America.

Few others blasted the president by saying that his actions on climate change are just ways for him to push more government control, higher taxes down people’s throats.

  1. It took Barrack Obama 5 yrs to decide whether or not to run a pipe from Canada to the gulf of Mexico at his present rate of decisiveness we are all doomed..He has stated that the planet is the warmest in “Recorded history”The planets 10 million years old and we have been recording tempetures for 135..This is science??

    1. Someone please tell me what the “Normal” tempeture of the earth is..How do we know that the earths tempeture is not rising to reach it’s normal tempeture. We don’t..

  2. I wish all the idiots that beleive this climate change, or global warming theory the way people like our first ever idiotic president does, would understand that climate change is inevitable. Although I do agree that man has made things slightly worse and there are still many countries that continue to make it worse, the fact is the way people express this theory is blatantly false.
All one has to do is readn and understand the history and science of the world/globe/planet earth. The climate has and will continue to change for the exsistance of our great planet. It has gone trhough ice ages and meltings for its entire life span. At one time, the area that is now Alaska was actually flat beautiful green grasslands. No mountains like there are now. Florida as we know it now was mostly under water. At one time the earth was one continuous land mass called Pangea. Earthquakes and other phenomena altered the land masses causing them to split apart and moved to the current locations now observed. If you look, you can see where the land masses once were connected. Land masses are still moving to this daya dn will continue for eternity. Mountais were formed by land masses colliding into one another and they continue to change the landscape and size of mountains globally. Ice once covered an enormous amount, possibly the majority of, the land mass we now call North America. That ice was over a mile thick down across where Ohio and the state of New York are located.
So the idea that we as humans will stop this earth and cimate from changing is left for the true idiots that beleive they are more powerful than this universe. And Obama definitely fits into that category. I am not sure I have ever known of two people that beleive they now what is best for Americans than Obama and his wife. Heck, kids can’t even have bake sales at school any more for things like doughnuts and cakes and stuff. It seems that Ms Obama beilieve it is her and the governments right to dictate what children can and can not eat during the day. Parents don’t even have that choice any more.
So believe what you want to beleive. And I will even give in that all science is simply a theory. However, it is a theory that has been proven with facts. The theory of humans ebing totally responsible for the altering of the climate is also a theory and has not been proven. Scientists have come forward through out the years stating how they have either lied, altered their own facts or were flat out wrong about the global warming conspiracy as defined by certain idiots these days.

  3. If these are his TRUE feelings on Climate Change – THEN WHY DID HE JUST GREENLIGHT SHELL TO START ARCTIC DRILLING – Clearly a disaster waiting to happen ……Less than 100 days is the time before Shell wants to start. OUR OWN COAST GUARD warned against letting SHELL DRILL…clearly, in a report turned into the Dept of Interior. We CAN NOT AFFORD ONE MORE DROP OF ARCTIC OIL to escape! ARCTIC DRILLING IS the BIGGEST THREAT TO OUR CLIMATE..
Time the president stopped talking out both sides of his mouth and REALLY ADDRESS Climate Change. Revoke Shell’s permits.
