NOFX Fat Mike kicks fan while performing and later tweets an apology. On Wednesday night, Mike Burkett aka Fat Mike was performing at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, Australia with the NOFX band when the incident occurred.

Prior to starting the gig, NOFX’s Fat Mike told the crowd that he had injured his neck and was in terrible pain. It appears that a fan by the name of Alex Medak did not hear what Fat Mike said.

In the middle of the performance, Medak jumped on stage and grabbed Fat Mike by the neck in an attempt to hug him. The lead singer of NOFX’s reaction was a bit shocking.

NOFX Fat Mike turned and punched the fan in the face. The man fell to the floor and Fat Mike decided to kick him in the face. Medak was escorted from the stage by security guards.

Few hours later, NOFX’s Fat Mike said sorry for the kick and punch:

“I’m sorry too Alex, I was in terrible pain all night. When you grabbed me by the neck I defensively reacted… offensively.Come back and find me. We will have a better night tomorrow!”

Alex replied by saying:

“No worries mike, i completely forgot you mentioned your neck hurting, I was way too drunk.”

Fat Mike’s tour member, Stephen Garret, got in contact with Alex and has provided him with a ticket for the show scheduled for Friday.

The NOFX Fat Mike kick incident has angered some of the group’s fans. One person tweeted:

“i used to admire fatmike b4 i saw him to that to a fan.”

Alex replied by saying:

“Don’t blame him. He said his neck was in pain and I still went up and obviously hurt him.”

  1. Fat Mike I gotta let you know, it’s not the tunes it’s their live show, and all the boots you get to eat.

  2. Hey come on folks! Lighten up! Although I don’t condone violence, Fat Mike didn’t know the guy or what his intentions were and Alex did get on stage when he shouldn’t have so Fat Mike had every right to defend himself and his personal space just as you or I would! So lighten up on Fat Mike and let it go. Alex did and he’s the one that got hurt!

    1. What you describe is ASSAULT! Fat Mike (accurate name btw) should be arrested and prosecuted! He is a performer and, as such, should be aware there will be fans like this one (drunk, unruly) who might get onstage. If he thinks a free ticket to another one of his concerts “fixes” this, he’s an idiot and if the fan doesn’t pursue it, he”s an idiot too. He could have simply pushed him away and, almost, I could see the knee-jerk reaction of “hitting him away” as excusable, but to kick him in the face when he is already down??? Degenerate a**holes…….gives other punkers a bad name.
