Myla Dalbesio Calvin Klein Drama: Size 10 Model Myla Dalbesio Caught In Plus-size Debate

A Myla Dalbesio Calvin Klein saga is currently unfolding in the fashion industry. Dalbesio, size 10, and a plus-size model affiliation created drama for Calvin Klein. CK released their “Perfectly Fit” campaign, which features Dalbesio who is a size 10. Twitter erupted with harsh comments about the fact that Dalbesio was classified as a plus-size model by some fashion blogs.

Myla Dalbesio Size 10 Plus-size

The Myla Dalbesio Calvin Klein drama is one that is not really good for PR. Dalbesio, size 10, and a plus-size model classification means trouble for Calvin Klein. Calvin Klein is in hot water when they did not do anything wrong.

On Sunday, Calvin Klein released their latest “Perfectly Fit” ad campaign. Along with the normal skinny models, the campaign features a healthy looking young lady by the name of Myla Dalbesio, according to The Inquisitr.

Dalbesio looks absolutely stunning in the black and white pictures. With her hair brushed back, wearing a black bra, the 27-year-old from Wisconsin stares seductively at the camera.

Dalbesio is a size 10 and is therefore too curvy to be considered a “normal model,” and too small to be classified as plus-size, which traditionally starts at size 12 and up.

No one really know why, but few fashion bloggers and experts made the mistake of sticking the plus-size model tag on Myla Dalbesio, which angered many people on Twitter.

Those angry folks assumed that Calvin Klein was labeling Myla Dalbesio as a plus-size model, so they blasted the brand. One person tweeted:

“this is Calvin Klein’s first “plus size” model. What do we tell young girls?”

While another wrote:

“Genuine WTF moment. This woman is described as ‘plus-size’ and ‘a bigger girl’. Aaaraagahagaagahahagahahag.”

Calvin Klein issued a statement hoping to clarify the matter:

“The new Calvin Klein Underwear Perfectly Fit imagery features models Myla Dalbesio, Jourdan Dunn, Amanda Wellsh, Ji Hye Park and the face of the brand, Lara Stone, in several styles. The Perfectly Fit line was created to celebrate and cater to the needs of different women, and these images are intended to communicate that our new line is more inclusive and available in several silhouettes in an extensive range of sizes.”

Dalbesio spoke to Elle where she made it clear that the brand never labeled her as a plus-size model:

“It’s not like [Calvin Klein] released this campaign and were like ‘Whoa, look, there’s this plus-size girl in our campaign.’ They released me in this campaign with everyone else; there’s no distinction. It’s not a separate section for plus-size girls.”

Myla Dalbesio also attempted to explain why some people would confuse size 10 and plus-size:

“It’s kind of confusing because I’m a bigger girl.I’m not the biggest girl on the market but I’m definitely bigger than all the girls [Calvin Klein] has ever worked with, so that is really intimidating.”

Myla Dalbesio, size 10, and plus-size model should not be in the same sentence. Fans say she looks gorgeous and she has landed a huge campaign, so critics should leave her alone
