Monkey Death Arrest In Idaho, Michael J. Watkins Is In Police Custody

Michael J. Watkins has been arrested for beating a monkey to death.

The 22-year-old who is from Weiser, Idaho broke in the Idaho zoo on Saturday where he fatally injured a patas monkey.

The animal which had received a sever blow to the head died several hours after Michael J. Watkins had fled the scene of the crime.

Michael J. Watkins left his hat in the cage where the mammal was killed and someone was able to correctly identify its owner.

The suspect’s father Jerry Watkins spoke to local media saying that his son is not a cruel monkey killer.

He explained that Michael was drunk and was pushed by his stupid friends to pull an even more stupid prank which involved breaking in the zoo and eventually a sad accident took place.

The young man has been charged with burglary, for illegally entering Zoo Boise, and grand theft, for stealing and eventually killing the little creature.
