Metro-North Speeding Train Door Open Caught On Video
A video was recently released on YouTube of a group of people standing extremely close to an open door on a Metro-North train, casually talking and even joking. The person standing closest to the open door jokes that he thought he saw a stunned rat looking back at him as the train went by.
After boarding the train at around 8am the door apparently malfunctioned and did not close. As the conductor put on the breaks the door began to close, much to the relief of those who were freezing due to the open door.
At the time temperatures were low enough to have all of the passengers shivering and you could see the effects it was having on them at the time.
Metro-North did an investigation as to why the door malfunctioned and said that it was most likely due to the fact that it was only six degrees outside. One passenger gave the door a hard push to close it all the way so that they could finally shut out the cold air from the train.
A spokeswoman for Metro-North said that the video is disturbing and they plan on doing everything possible to correct it so that it does not happen again.
