Melissa McCarthy, best known for the role of Molly Flynn in the hit show Mike & Molly, has dropped 50 pounds, and in a new series of promotional ads for the fashion line Seven7, she is showing off her fabulous figure.

In the photos taken by famous photographer Brian Bowen Smith, the 45-year-old Oscar-nominated actress can be seen getting ready for the Christmas holidays – playing with lights and a wreath, and decorating a tree.

In one picture, the Bridesmaids star flashed her stunning smile, dressed in a black and coral tunic, leather leggings as she hangs ornaments on a towering Christmas tree. Other photos show the mother of two looking amazing in an all-black outfit wrapped in a large strand of shining white Christmas lights, with one including a group of women of all sizes modelling Melissa McCarthy’s clothing line.

McCarthy also sported a glittery skirt in a snapshot, and a cute blouse and cropped denim in another. Bowen Smith issued a statement explaining that it was a pleasure working with McCarthy because she is incredibly funny. He said:

“It’s fitting it was a holiday shoot. It felt like a party. Melissa was great and shocker funny. She has a very good handle on what she wants and how to achieve it.”

He continued:

“Her line is full of life and love. Like her. I was happy to be a part of it.”

McCarthy happily launched her line this past summer with sizes ranging from 4 to 28 – and most items are under $100 and the TV star explained that she would have done it for free because she loves the pieces that were created.

She revealed that the idea for the company came to her after visiting a Lane Byrant store in Los Angeles and discovering that it did not have what she wanted. She shared:

“I just don’t quite see the cut off. I don’t believe in kind of sectioning and segregating people in anything. I think most women in the U.S. are a 14. I think like 72 percent of women are a 14. So I think it’s a little insane if you’re in the business to tell your biggest section of clientele that you don’t want their business.”

While mainly known for being a funny lady, at heart, McCarthy has always had a passion for fashion. She claimed:

“[Designing clothing is] always what I thought I would do. I went into clothing and textiles in college and moved here with Brian Atwood. I was going to finish at FIT and he made me do stand-up on the second night.”

  1. I love Melissa McCarthy and her line of clothing is way more realistic for normal and larger sized women. Some of the plus sized clothing that is available at other stores is ridiculous…meaning something my granny wouldn’t even wear. And she passed away in 1977. I am 59 years old and am always looking for something decent to wear. Her pricing is a little expensive for me, but I would buy a few pieces. The pricing for Lane Bryant, even on sale, is outrageous!
