While promoting his highly anticipated rematch against Marcos Maidana that is set to take place this fall in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather Jr spoke to NBC Chicago’s Peggy Kusinski.

The Illinois based reported asked the athlete if his friendship with Johnny Manziel and Justin Bieber were authentic or was it all huge PR and marketing schemes.

Visibly upset by the question, the boxer tried to stay calm and gave a diplomatic answer by explaining that Johnny Manziel is a great football player who has yet to reach his full potential in the NFL.

Not quite pleased with Mr Mayweather’s non controversial response, the reporter interjected the following line to cause a little drama:

“You and Bieber, people think that’s the oddest matchup, you two together.“

Floyd Mayweather gave the reporter the money quote she was eagerly seeking by telling her:

“To me So that’s racial profiling. You don’t know what kind of music I like, this is America and with be being Floyd Mayweather, he likes and loves everyone.”

After the comment, the athlete who has been seen partying with 50 Cent, Lil Wayne and T.I. and his wife Tiny in the past walked off the interview.

The reporter took to Twitter to defend herself by tweeting:

“Big fan of @FloydMayweather but no it’s not racial profiling to ask how he’s friends with Bieber! Lol.”
