Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy are officially married. It is being reported that Olsen and Sarkozy wed in front of a small group of friends in New York – minus the cast of Full House – and gave their guests cigarettes at the event.
After three years of dating, Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy have walked down the aisle and smoked few cigarettes to commemorate the special moment. Over the weekend, the fashion designer and actress and the French banker, whose half-brother is Nicolas Sarkozy, former President of France, stood in front of 50 pals and exchanged their vows.
Before the wedding, it is claimed the mogul asked Sarkozy to sign a prenup that will protect her $900 million fortune if they ever split. The ceremony took place in a lavish Manhattan apartment, and according to a person, who attended the wedding, all of the guests’ phones were taken at the door – likely of fear that someone might leak the pictures on social media.
The insider claimed that the ceremony took place in a garden, and the reception inside where the invitees had a delightful dinner and enjoyed a cocktail. After the meal, the guests were given “bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes, and everyone smoked the whole night.” This is the first marriage for Olsen and the second for Sarkozy, who has two children with his ex-wife, Charlotte Bernard, a fashion writer and children’s book author. They were married for 14 years before splitting in 2010.
Bob Saget confirmed Mary-Kate Olsen is married to Olivier Sarkozy during an appearance on NBC’s Today, but explained he was not invited. Saget said:
“I was not invited, but I’m very happy and I sent a Mazel tov text. I’m very happy. I love her very much. I hope they’re happy.
John Stamos, who was not part of the nuptials, did congratulate the newlyweds with a cute throwback photo of Mary-Kate Olsen and her twin sister, Ashley Olsen, on the set of Full House. He captioned the photo:
“In the blink of an eye. Congrats MK X.”
Stamos and Saget are shooting a reboot of Full House for Netflix, but Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have declined to take part.
