A Married At First Sight split is making headlines, despite the fact that most people who watched the series predicted it. On Tuesday night, the Season 2 finale of the reality series, Married at First Sight, aired and it was revealed that not all three couples were able to continue with their relationships after saying their “I dos.”

A&E’s Married at First Sight is a controversial reality series or a “social experiment” inspired by a traditional Indian arranged marriage, in which six brave strangers choose to get married after just meeting their spouse at the altar.

Like any married couple, they must live together, have sex and plan their future together. One month after becoming husband and wife, they must decide if they want to remain together or go their separate ways.

In the last episode, which was filmed about six months after the weddings, Jessica Castro and Ryan De Nino said that they are still happy together, and so are Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone.

However, things did not work out for Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio. The pair confessed that after just six weeks together, they filed for divorce, and they have a very long list of reasons for doing so.

The pair fought over the fact that one did not want to leave New York for New Jersey and over the fact that they were unable to have sex when they lived together. Kullar said her spouse was faking everything and added:

“I don’t think the real Sean, the genuine Sean ever really showed up. I can’t say that I really know who I was married to.I didn’t have a connection at all with him.”

Varricchio said that his wife made him very uncomfortable and revealed that he moved out of their shared home very quickly. He explained:

“I was constantly walking on eggshells, where it definitely became difficult to see how we could grow a relationship. I’m willing to compromise on so many things as long as someone’s willing to compromise a little bit with me and I didn’t feel that at times.”

He also revealed that he was not ready to leave his family and his work in New Jersey and go live in New York with someone he barely knew. He shared:

“She came to Jersey a total of three or four times. She didn’t appear to be all that comfortable being here, but I wasn’t all that comfortable in Manhattan.”

The Married At First Sight participants do not regret taking part in the show and say if anything, it has helped them better prepare for their future.

They hope to marry someday, but they have promised themselves to vet their partners more thoroughly. They have stopped talking to each other since the split.
