Mariska Hargitay is speaking out about her role on NBC’s hit crime drama Law & Order: SVU that is entering its fifteenth season this year.

The show is now helmed by a different team and Hargitay who plays Det. Olivia Benson, is satisfied with the direction and new energy given to the series.

Olivia Benson had to face some tough situations when Law & Order: SVU recently premiered and that’s perfectly fine with the talented actress.

During an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday, here is what the TV star had to say about the evolution of her character. She stated:

“I think the writing changes now that we have new showrunners. It feels to me like a different show now, which I think is a great thing. After 15 years, the show feels so unbelievably fresh, and that’s a gift.”

Mariska Hargitay also said that the new scripts are really well written and she could not be happier. The mother-of-three added:

“I read this and I thought, ‘This is one of the best scripts I’d ever read — so complicated and so painful.'”

Show is better than ever. Will miss Richard Belzer’s dry humor. Do not miss Stabler’s constant anger and lack of control. The ensemble works so well together Congrats to the writers for bringing a fresh look to L & O. Now can we get Criminal Intent and Vincent D’Onofrio back?
