Marie Holmes: Powerball Winner Gets Fiancé Lamarr McDow Out Of Jail Again

Marie Holmes, a Powerball winner, who had promised to focus on her children, is instead spending millions of dollars to keep her criminal of a fiancé named Lamarr McDow, AKA Hot Sauce, out of trouble. Since winning $188 million, Holmes has forked over almost $10 million in bail money and lawyer fees to keep Hot Sauce a free man.

Marie Holmes Powerball

Marie Holmes is wasting all of her Powerball winnings on her fiancé, who is unable to stay out of trouble. Back in February, Holmes, a 26-year-old unemployed North Carolina mother of four children between the ages of 9 months and 7 years melted hearts with the humble list of what she had planned to do after winning her share of the $564 million Powerball jackpot.

As one of the three winners, Holmes, who had worked at Walmart, Food Lion, KFC and Subway, was given $188 million, and she decided to pocket the lump sum of $88 million. Appearing on several media outlets, Holmes said her faith made it possible for her to fight as a single mother to raise Brayden, Charisma, Andrea, and Ebony, (one suffers from cerebral palsy). She said she was going to donate to her church and buy a home for her family because she was sharing an apartment with several people who had been previously convicted on drug-related charges.

Days after becoming a millionaire, one of her roommates, Lamarr McDow, AKA Hot Sauce, who was later revealed to be her fiancé, was released on bail. McDow, who was arrested on heroin charges in November of 2014, was freed on a $3 million bond.

In July, Mr. Hot Sauce was arrested a second time, for failing to respect a curfew. During the arrest, police discovered an illegally-owned weapon and drugs. This time around, the loving fiancée was forced to sign a $6 million check to get McDow out of jail.

After being blasted for wasting her fortune on a man, who is unwilling to change his ways and for still having her children in a home with a drug dealer, Holmes took to Facebook to defend herself. She wrote:

“What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y’all how?.

She added:

“And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody? I will definitely pray for Y’all because it’s much need…they talked about Jesus so I’m not surprised Y’all are talking about me but be blessed though.”

On Monday, McDow was arrested for the third time because he had a gun while being a convicted felon. The bail was set at $10,000 and once more Holmes paid to have him quickly released from jail.

  1. I’m much more curious about why a drug offender had a $6 million bail amount. It’s almost like the county/city/state knew they would get a bunch of money out of her.

I mean, did they honestly expect him to have six million dollars, or even a tenth of that? What did they base this bail amount on.

‘Cause if it’s based on her assets and not his, since they aren’t married, isn’t that illegal?

Is she some kind of idiot? Probably. But I don’t like the idea of the court system exploiting idiots for revenue.

    1. No, They didn’t expect him to have that much for bail. That’s how the courts keep high risk people in jail, they give them a bail that they can’t afford to post. In most states that money is returned IF/WHEN the bonded person appears in court minus any fines.

    2. Insanity is when you keep doing the same things expecting different results. No go. She will be broke in 5 years and probably will be worse off than she was. Nothing has changed on the inside of her. So you can’t expect anything different. I feel sorry for her children they could have had a better life.

    3. Typical NEGRO SINGLE WOMEN WITH NO SENCE OR DIRECTION in life, and to think only money to guide her, and not anything that is concrete..

      1. WHITE women is worse they smoke meth and let their no good man kill their children so don’t talk about race because in both of them their is some low down dirty men and women.SO SHUT THE HELL UP

    4. they might as well. the drug dealers will. just ask Hot Sauce. (that will be the name I use for my next dog.)

  2. Well…you can’t still be ghetto in the mind and not expect to continue to do ghetto things or have and keep money.

  3. Honestly I believe this is God almighty dealing with this woman, and if she doesnt smarten up quickly she will be broke again and living in the hood and poverty, and actually looking for someone to help her and her children, when she has the opporunity to do that right now.

  4. WOW…All I can say is wow! Well she’s right in one sense…It’s her money. She entitle to blow it as mush and as often as she wishes. Its apparent to me though that this “boyfriend” is well aware of her of the fact that she will continue to bail him out of trouble so, if I can, I’d like to give Mrs. Holmes a little advice. Next time your “boyfriend” finds himself behind bars, try keeping your money in your pocket and let him sweat it out. I can almost guarantee you that once he does get out, if he gets out, he won’t want to be in there again.
As far as the $6 million bail amount….several things could contribute to that. The amount of drugs found. If he’s considered a flight risk or he’s jumped bail before, etc. I admit that is very high for a street pusher but hell….she didn’t have to pay it. So I doubt they was just trying to get money out of her.

    Get wise Mrs. Holmes.

  5. Everybody knows that you can’t throw money at a problem. Why doesn’t she? She can thumb her nose at her critics, but she will always be wrong on her choices with regards to the addict boyfriend. He’s not blood. He’s not legally bound, and probably not even a biological father to one of those four children. Given the chance, he probably would not do the same for her. Men don’t go to the extreme for women like she’s doing. I would rather splurge on my children and not a man who doesn’t give a damn if I broke.

  6. Until she realizes that the “drugs” are his “girlfriend” he will continue to “pimp her” to take care of his “primary\main\love of his life” girlfriend. Someone close to her needs to sit her down and talk about her past struggles prior to winning. Someone needs to take her back down memory lane in a visual way and have her discuss if that is where she wants to go back to. Someone needs to take a day and have her walk in her shoes, prior to the money. Go back to each job, discuss the pay from each job, discuss how she CONSTANTLY robbed and stole from Peter to pay Paul. Until she realizes that when the $$$$$ is G O N E……….she will be
G O N E. My prayers are with her and her children that she wakes up VERY soon. I have not heard\read anything that he is trying to do to save him. Sweetheart, you cannot save someone who does not want saved. YOU cannot CHANGE him, nor CONTROL him. The ONLY ONE THAT YOU CAN CHANGE AND CONTROL………is you. PLEASE wake up and think about your children and their LIFE LONG NEEDS as well as your own. They are the ONLY ones on EARTH that you are responsible to and for. God Bless you. You have my prayers. You need to take your children and tell no one. LEAVE THE STATE and get into therapy for yourself to STAY AWAY from his and “his true girlfriend – the drugs”

  7. My 2 cent a mother of 4 with no life skills to speak of! wins a to of cash! with no and I repeat NO LIFE SKILLS continues to stay on the same course and WE! upset! WHY!!!!

  8. Hey, don’t worry about her… She’ll be dead from the lotto curse within the next 54 months.

Hopefully, it will be at the hands of the man she’s enabling… Because that makes better online fodder, of course.

She ain’t got the brain to handle things responsibly, there’s tons of studies of people in similar situations and, to an extraordinary majority, those who cite their god or religious dogma are exponentially more likely to have a major failure.

    …and so it goes.

  9. But a scrub is checkin’ me but his game is kinda weak
And I know that he cannot approach me
‘Cause I’m lookin’ like class and he’s lookin’ like trash
Can’t get wit’ no deadbeat ass

Shame she’s probably not old enough to have heard the song…

  10. Poor thing She seems to lack concern for HERSELF! I can only hope she at least some money aside for her children, or she will need her fastfood connections when the money runs out and she needs 3 jobs again!smh

  11. Wow, is she ungrateful… she wins all that money, has 4 kids and keep spending her winnings on a fool. Who’s the real fool.

  12. What is wrong with this woman? How can someone be so blessed and so out of touch with the world at the same time. She better wake up soon and kick that boyfriend to the curb fast and in a hurry. She should only be thinking about making a better life for those children. Her children’s life can be tremendously changed for the good. If she wants to throw away millions she can throw them my way any day. I would surely show her how much she could accomplish with it.

  13. This is what I would say to her: Get a financial advisor and have him set up trust funds for each of the children and one for herself so the “boyfriend” won’t have access to the money. If she doesn’t do something like this, the money will disappear, she’ll be back in poverty, and NO ONE will be sorry for her. If that happens the state will step in and take her children away from her.

  14. I feel that she was blessed to have won, the money should be used to help herself as well as others, but not in this case. I think she need to revamp her image and think about how this is going to affect her children with the negative publicity this is causing her. EVERYBODY GOT CHOICES AND MINE WOULD BE MY CHILDREN.

  15. This is a situation that the State Division of Family Services should immediately step in and conduct an evaluation on her mental ability to raise her children in a dysfunctinal free enviroment. Obviously she has social ills and psychological restraints. The State could easily freeze her financial accounts on the premise that her criminal man has access to money that filters his criminal behavior. If the State show some effort, they can restrict the access to her money with a court auditor or financial consultant to guarantee that the children financial future are protected. In the end, forget her and this criminal! We should all protest through legislation to force the existing laws in the books; to save the children from the stupidity over thier parents or caretakers. The children have an opportunity to be lifted up so high, inspite the error of ways from thier biological parents. The STATE should intervene under the protection of the children.

  16. why are the police allowing her to keep her 4 children. Isn’t he living with her? Being arrested for gun possession, breaking probation, isn’t that a enough to bring charges against here?
Doesn’t there come a point where he becomes ineligible for parole?

  17. If you are in love with someone none of this sh8t you guys are talking matters! 90% of you would do the same if it were someone you loved!! I’m sure at some point she will realize that it’s a waste of money, and I’m sure she will take care of her kids. If she goes broke that’s her choice, and it will not affect any of you so why talk bad about her decisions. You don’t know what you would do until your put in that situation!!!

    1. Irrelevant even if true. Just because 90% of people are stupid (by your reckoning) doesn’t mean it’s okay to be stupid. And NOBODY chooses to go or be broke. She’ll go broke because she’s irresponsible and foolish, not because she chooses to!
Besides that, the rest of us talking bad about her won’t affect YOU, so why are you lambasting everyone else? You’re a bit of a hypocrite.

  18. Her lashing out at people who are trying to point out the utter stupidity of her actions is reactionary and defensive but in no way legitimate and it’s doing her no good whatsoever. It’s not her money people are worried about, it’s the fact that she’s well on the way to blowing through her $88 million, much of it on a man who doesn’t seem to be worth the effort. Even if she gets the bail money back, what’s the likelihood that she keeps supporting and enabling this seemingly deadbeat dude? The story doesn’t say, but I have to wonder if this guy didn’t get himself promoted from ‘roommate’ to ‘fiance’ after she picked up her check.
She would have been wise to have spoken with someone who could help, or at least advise her, how to handle her money. I have little doubt that she’ll be broke in 3-5 years, and what will her children and church have benefited?
Plus, if you just picked up a check for $88 million, you DON’T go on national TV broadcasting that…unless you want every scam artist, con man and sob story in the country on your doorstep with their hands out. Just not a very smart woman.

  19. Hey don’t be so easy to judge, this is a Man that she Love and she is sharing her winning. If you don’t know her story than you can’t understand her Glory.
