Man Puts Knife In Shoe, Gets Arrested At Detroit Airport

Man Knife In Shoe Arrested At Detroit airport

Man with knife in shoe arrested while trying to board a flight in Detroit, Michigan. The individual was released after a brief interrogation. TSA agents discovered the knife hidden under the sole of the shoe during a security screening. The name of the passenger has not been revealed. The story got even more attention because Michigan is the same state where “underwear bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab tried to create havoc in Christmas 2009.

A man who had a knife in his shoe was detained at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus, Michigan on Sunday morning, according to a statement issued by the Transportation Security Administration.

The incident was confirmed by the airport’s spokesperson Brian Lassaline who explained that other fliers were not in danger while the man was being apprehended.

During a security screening, TSA agents at the busy airport’s North Terminal discovered a small knife hidden under the lining of the sole of the man’s left brown Rockport shoe.

The pair of shoes were concealed under clothes and other items in his carry-on luggage.

The unnamed person had removed the sole and shoved the weapon on the front portion of the shoe.

Airport police arrested the passenger immediately after the knife was found.

The traveler was handcuffed and interrogated at around 7:30 AM and was released few minutes later.

Talking to the media Brian Lassaline stated that Wayne County prosecutor’s office has not yet decided on the charges they will file against the person.

Mr Brian Lassaline went on to add that the fact that the knife was found by TSA agents proves that “the security screening process working as it should.”

While it may surprise you, but knives, meat cleavers, axes and ice picks are allowed on planes, but they have to be checked first.

Conspiracy theorists are having a field day with this piece of news since the knife was not very big.
