Man Faked Mom’s Obituary To Get Time Off – Some people will say or do anything to get time off work.
Scott Bennett of Brookville was arrested recently after publishing his mother’s fake obituary notice in The Jefferson Democrat in an effort not to get fired from his job.
The 45 year old Pennsylvanian was caught in his lie after several family members include the woman he claimed was dead called the newspaper asking them to correct their error.
Bennett who confessed that he came up with the scheme to get paid bereavement time off from work is now in jail for disorderly conduct.
One can only imagine what Mr Bennett is going to tell his mother once he is released from jail.
