Mama June was hospitalized with pneumonia few days ago, but the reality star is now doing better. Last week, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star Mama June was hospitalized after she fell ill with a 103 fever and doctors discovered that she was suffering from pneumonia.
The headline “Mama June hospitalized” was splashed all over the internet last week. On Friday, a source close to Mama June whose real name is June Shannon, spoke to several media outlets and revealed that she was hospitalized in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to the insider, the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star woke up and told her family that she was not feeling well and she explained that she had a high fever.
Mama June was rushed to the emergency room, where doctors discovered that she was suffering from a 103 fever and was later diagnosed with pneumonia. The doctors stated that Mama June had extreme dehydration. The person revealed:
“She was having trouble getting out of bed Friday morning and her temperature went through the roof and doctors said she has pneumonia.”
Mama June stayed in the hospital overnight for observation. On Saturday morning, she was released with lots of medication and was ordered to rest herself. While Mama June gets plenty of rest to recuperate, her husband, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, has decided to help around the house. The insider confessed:
“Sugar Bear pitched in to watch the kids while June was getting treated and he’s gonna hang around for a few days to help out while June is stuck in bed.”
The anonymous pal has revealed to TMZ that now that TLC has cancelled her reality television series, Mama June has been talking to numerous Hollywood producers to get a new show.
In October of 2014, the network dumped the program after it was confirmed that June Shannon was dating Mark Anthony McDaniel, Sr., who was convicted of aggravated child molestation of an 8-year-old in March 2004. The world later learned that Shannon’s eldest daughter, Anna “Chikadee” Cardwell, is the child who was molested by McDaniel 10 years earlier.
Many feared that Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson would be abused by McDaniel in the future. Mama June has been fighting with TLC since the end of her hit series.
The family had filmed an entire season’s worth of episodes that the network has declined to air and they have refused to pay their health insurance. The clan says they feel no obligation to TLC and are eager to start working with another company.
As she was battling pneumonia, Mama June took to Facebook to ramble about why 17-year-old Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, decided not to move to the family’s new home in Hampton. June stated:
“The reason Jessica stayed in McIntyre is because she only has two and a half months to graduate. It was a hard decision but she wanted to graduate with her friends she had been with for ten years. But she comes home and we talk.”
