Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370: New Video Shows Ocean Floor Of Search Area

Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 is still one of the biggest mysteries of this decade. Earlier this month, the team searching for Malaysia Airlines flight MH37 returned to work and released a video that showed the type of sea floor terrain where they believe the plane might be.

An animated video has been released by experts showing where experts believe Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 might be located.

It has been 9 long months since Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 vanished from the face of the earth. The doomed MH370 had 239 people on board as it left Kuala Lumpur for Beijing and apparently crashed in the Indian Ocean.

After a brief pause, on December 4th, the international team of searchers resumed their efforts to find Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 in the southern Indian Ocean.

The same day, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau released an animated video showing the area where they will be focusing their next search efforts.

Organizers of the search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will be roaming an area the size of the state of Victoria in the south-east of Australia, which is about 91,749 sq miles or 237,629 km², hoping to finally locate the wreckage.

The clip shows the type of terrain in the search area. Australian Transport Safety Bureau issued a statement explaining that the vessels – the Fugro Equator, Fugro Discovery and GO Phoenix have gathered some “extraordinary data” and went on to add:

“The image is a synthetic aperture sonar acoustic image of the seafloor gathered by GO Phoenix. This is indicative of the resolution and quality of the data and that it is revealing important detail of the seafloor.”

The statement went on to say:

“In addition to locating the aircraft, the underwater search aims to map the MH370 debris field in order to identify and prioritise the recovery of specific aircraft components, including flight recorders, which will assist with the Malaysian investigation.The equipment used on the vessels is providing extraordinary data.”
