Blue Is the Warmest Colour actress Lea Seydoux is now officially a Bond girl after months of speculation. Sam Mendes, the director of James Bond 24, made the announcement on Thursday.

The upcoming Bond film called Spectre will be out in October 2015. Daniel Craig will be in the lead role for the fourth time. Christoph Waltz, David Bautista, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear are also part of this new cast.

Mendes revitalized the franchise in 2012 with Skyfall, it will be interesting to see where he takes 007 next. Skyfall broke box office records with over $1.1 billion in worldwide ticket sales.

In an interview with French media, Lea Seydoux revealed that when she auditioned for the role, she was very nervous and things did not really go well. She thought she would not get the part and was surprised when Mendes told her that she was getting it.

Seydoux failed to deliver during the audition because she was impressed by the James Bond universe and was unsure if she was good enough to be part of it. The Inglourious Basterds actress found out she got the role about 8 months after the failed audition.

In Spectre, the Paris native will play a very important character named Madeleine Swann that will change James Bond’s life forever.

Since Bellucci is expected to play Bond’s love interest as Luci Sciarra in this new installment, is it plausible that Seydoux’s character could be the baddest Bond girl in the history of the legendary fictional British Secret Service agent series?

One thing is certain, fans are not totally on board, when it comes to the Marcel Proust reference in Seydoux’s character’s name. It was heavily debated on social media.

Shooting for Spectre will start in London on Monday. As usual, James Bond will be traveling around the globe. In order to defeat the terrorist organization known as SPECTRE, Bond will go to places like Mexico, Italy, Austria and Morocco.

To accomplish this very difficult mission, Bond will even have a new Aston Martin car, a DB10 that Craig says, he can not wait to wreck.

As for Lea Seydoux, who is trying to launch an international career after finding huge success in her home country, she says that being part of a James Bond movie is something iconic. Seydoux does not believe that her career can go higher than this, we beg to differ.
