Lakechia Schonta Stanley, the St Louis mother who was accused of torturing her children will be spending the next 78 years behind bars. On Friday, Stanley appeared in court in St. Louis, Missouri where she confessed to abusing her three children.

The judge threw the book at the St. Louis mother by sentencing her to 78 years in prison. In October of 2011, Lakechia Schonta Stanley’s 10-year-old daughter, showed up to school with an injured arm.

When the librarian questioned the child, she revealed that her mother had beaten her with a baseball bat because she did not clean the kitchen fast enough. The librarian touched the arm and realized that it was cold and hard.

The little girl was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors determined that the arm had been subjected to such trauma that the blood supply to the limb was restricted. Authorities interviewed the child where she made some shocking revelations.

She revealed that Lakechia Schonta Stanley, 34, often waterboarded her three children. Stanley regularly whipped them with electrical cords, forced them to take scalding or freezing showers as punishments.

The child stated that her 8-year-old sister was beaten with an array of blunt objects for not talking a shower quick enough. According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the assistant circuit attorney, Tanja Engelhardt, wrote to the judge:

“What the defendant did to her own children far exceeds the definition of child abuse and amounts to systematic torture.”

Engelhardt went on to add:

“She was supposed to be their mother, the one person they could trust. Instead she became a symbol of betrayal and fear, using every tool at her disposal to beat and torture her own innocent children.”

Detective Robert Jauer, who worked on the case, said that he had never seen so many bruises on children so young. The law enforcer shared:

“The scarring on these two girls is the worst scarring I have ever seen on children from repeated whippings from objects.”

Stanley pleaded guilty to 34 felonies, including multiple counts of assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Inquisitr.

Last year, Lakechia Schonta Stanley’s husband, Alexander Rui Stanley, 30, pleaded guilty to 42 felony counts concerning the assaulting of his children, and was sentenced to 160 years in prison.

  1. I pray to God that these three precious children, who endured such horrific acts by their parents (and I use the term VERY loosely), that they have seen what many U.S. Military soldiers have when captured by their enemies. I pray God heal their little bodies, souls & spirits as they all be raised by one godly family together. I also hope that the two monsters (for lack of a better word) receive back 7-fold what they did to these children. I personally hope it is years and years of beatings in their jails until they each succumb to death… slowly.
