Kobe Bryant price record

A Kobe Bryant price record has the Internet buzzing. Earlier this week, Kobe Bryant‘s stunning California mansion was sold for $6,116,500.

Bryant’s 8,741-square-foot property set a price record in the Newport Coast area by beating another home that was purchased for $4.78 million in 2013.

While the Mediterranean-style house was able to break Newport Coast’s price record, the basketball player and his wife, Vanessa Bryant, lost a substantial amount of money on it.

The home was put on the market for $8.6 million in August 2013 and took several price cuts after not being able to find a new owner. Mr. Bryant purchased the partially built home from sports agent Dwight Manley in 2001, and has spent a fortune renovating it to add solid walnut flooring, limestone capped staircases and a massive walk-in closet in the master bedroom. It is not known if the Bryant family ever lived in the mansion because they own two other homes in that area.

Jordan Cohen of Re/Max Olson & Associates, the listing agent, which sold the record-setting property, said it is set:

“…behind massive private gates in a prestigious guard gated community is this recently expanded, reconstructed and highly upgraded custom estate. ALL remodeling was done by the current owners! Boasting unobstructed ocean and city light views, the setting is truly spectacular! Set at the end of a cul-de-sac, with complete privacy, the two story floor plan spans approx. 8500 square feet…”

Other features of the splendid home include a brand new 850-square-foot gym for working out, a complete hair salon, and a large paneled office/library with a shark tank.

The buyer will be enjoying a majestic master suite with sitting room, large marble bathroom, an art theater, lobby and wet bar. The record-shattering home is as impressive inside and outside with a one-of-a-kind swimming pool and spa along with a fire pit and an outdoor kitchen/BBQ center – perfect for summer grilling as long he does not invite this woman.
