Kissimmee Mom Arrest

Kissimmee mom arrest has gone viral. A mom from Kissimmee, Florida was arrested and charged with child neglect after her son’s teacher smelled a strong odor coming from the child’s clothes. The boy told his teacher that his mother Betsy Beth Velasquez, stopped washing his clothes and rarely fed him. When police arrived at the home to arrest the mom of the year, they discovered five children and seven dogs living in deplorable conditions.

The arrest of a Kissimmee mom who had not cleaned her home in the last six months is making headlines and many are asking how could she have been such a bad parent to her five kids?

Earlier this week, Betsy Beth Velasquez was arrested by Florida police after the teacher of her 10-year-old son called the authorities.

The unnamed educator from the Ventura Elementary School told members of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office that the kid had been coming to school late every morning.

She went on to add that the student often complained of being hungry and as of lately, he had been attending class in dirty and smelly clothes.

The little boy explained to his instructor that he could not remember, the last time he took a shower and that his mom had stopped washing his and his siblings clothes.

Police called the Kissimmee mother and told her that they were coming to visit her home and she accepted.

When officers arrived at the house, they were shocked, NewsOxy reported.

The floors were covered with urine and feces. Pile of dirty clothes and leftovers, dog food covered with moss, mold and mildew were all over the home.

They discovered 5 children aged 8 to 14 and 7 dogs in the filthy home. Three of the dogs were malnourished and a puppy was almost dead laying in a cardboard in one of the rooms.

The answer to the question – why did the boy stop taking showers was finally revealed.

The bathtub was clogged and filled with dirty water, according to Examiner.

During the arrest, the mother made the surprising confession to the police, she did not clean the house in the last 6 months.

The 5 children were taken by the Department of Children and Families that placed them with Velasquez’s family members.

Animal Control officials took the 7 dogs away. The home’s condition, lead to the arrest of the 34-year-old mother who was charged with child neglect without great bodily harm.

The mom was released from the Osceola County jail the following day.

Five years ago, the Kissimmee mom was fined $104 for leaving one of her children alone in her car as she ran errands.

The story of this Kissimmee mom’s arrest has many believing that she may be a drug addict and she may be suffering from some kind of mental illness.

How do these people ALWAYS find money to feed dogs, but not thier own kids? Because they don’t need to spend money on food, that’s why. Go to any food bank, get it free, go to any church get it free, go to any welfare office, get it free. Good for the teacher, her nose, and her sense of duty to the student.

I hope to hell that she never gets her kids back.

This is a very sad situation.

Well, Julie according to the article she wasn’t feeding the dogs as a puppy was almost dead. As to your question “how do these people always find money to feed their dogs?” Are you an effing idiot? That is what you got from this story? This USELESS woman neglected and abused 5 of her own offspring, do you think that is okay? It got bad enough that a teacher reported her to authorities and she didn’t bother to clean her house when they CALLED AND SAID THEY WERE COMING!!! I have dogs, they are rescue animals and yes, I find the money for their food because to me they are important. More important than my children? Absolutely not. The most pressing issue here is that those babies get fed, bathed and into a stable environment. The pets hopefully went to a no kill shelter and will be adopted. The “mother” can rot in jail, I fervently hope she never has another child or is able to abuse an innocent again.
