Kim Richards loses dog attack lawsuit and must pay 80-year-old Kay Rozario the amount of $8,083.53 for medical bills and distress. Kay Rozario was bitten by Kim Richards’ pit bull, Kingsley, while staying at her home in California and sued the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star for $1 million.

Kim Richards loses a dog attack lawsuit and still comes out a winner. In March of 2014, Kay Rozario, whom Kim Richards considered as a second mother, was staying with the TV star at her Beverly Hills mansion when some drama took place.

Kingsley, the Richards’ family pit bull, bit the 80-year-old’s hand and arm. That same dog mauled Richards’ daughter.

The injuries left Rozario with a $4,000 medical bill, and when she asked the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star to help her pay, she refused. The lovefest between the elderly woman and the TV personality was over.

Rozario filed a shocking lawsuit against Richards, Bravo and Evolution Media, the production company behind Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, for more than $1 million to cover her injuries, which took more than 6 months to heal.

Rozario also claimed that she was depressed after being attacked and needed multiple therapy sessions to overcome the traumatic incident. Court documents showed that Richards failed to call 911 after the incident and had asked Rozario to keep the matter private.

According to Rozario, Richards had promised to give the dog away and never did until it bit her young niece almost six months after the incident. Dog trainer David Utter, who testified, said: “Behind the scenes I was hired by Bravo to fix the dog’s aggression. In front of the camera the public was told I was working with the animal based on chewing sunglasses and shoes. They really failed to show how the dog unprovoked, attacked me and came to rip off my face and I had no choice but to defend myself.”

On May 14, a judge sided with Rozario, but only awarded her $8,083.53, based on the amount of her medical bills, which totaled $4083.50. Bill Zuhdi, Rozario’s attorney, said in a statement that they plan to appeal.

“We are going to appeal this decision based on several factors. Kim Richards did not make an appearance. Also, she did not contest the case, nor did she go in front of a jury to defend herself. Kim simply chose not to participate,” Zuhdi said. “She is also disappointed that she did not get her day in court with Kim, which is what she wanted so badly.”

He is also seeking copies of all of the contracts between Kim Richards and Evolution.

  1. Why do people have those stupid dogs that are always biting and killing people. Get a damn fish or a bird. Read the headlines pit bulls are killers!

    1. THESE DOGS ARE NOT STUPID. IT IS ONLY STUPID PEOPLE THAT OWN SOME OF THESE DOGS..SHE SHOULD HAVE HAD THE DOG TRAINED BETTER. OR KEPTED HIM AWAY FROM OTHER PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE. IT IS NOT THE DOGS FAULT THAT HE IS A BITER. I HAVE PIT BULLS, MINE DO NOT BITE. I AM A RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER. WHEN WE HAVE COMPANY OVER OUR DOGS GO IN THEIR KENNELS. DONT JUDGE THE DOGS, JUDGE THEIR OWNERS

    2. She was awarded $8,000, also, didn’t one of her dogs bite her niece, Kyle Richards daughter??

  2. $1 million for a dog bit???? Jesus Christ, no wonder Kim Richards failed to go to court.

    2014 dog bite fatality statistics

42 U.S. dog bite-related fatalities occurred in 2014. Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 700 U.S. cities, pit bulls contributed to 64% (27) of these deaths. Pit bulls make up about 6% of the total U.S. dog population.2
Together, pit bulls (27) and rottweilers (4), the second most lethal dog breed, accounted for 74% of the total recorded deaths in 2014. This same combination also accounted for 74% of all fatal attacks during the 10-year period of 2005 to 2014.

    1. YOU NEED TO READ ABOUT OTHER DOG BREEDS!!!!DALMATIONS, LABS AND OTHERS HAVE BEEN KNOWN FOR MAULING. THE PAPERS AND NEWS JUST DONT REPORT THESE LIKE THEY DO PIT BULLS. YOU HEAR MORE BAD THAN THE GOOD IN PIT BULLS. I HAVE PT BULLS AND THEY ARE THE ONLY BREED I WILL HAVE. SO ALL YOU STUPID PEOPLE BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT. KIM RICHARDS DID NOT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE HER DOG. STUPID PEOPLE OWNING A PIT CAN MAKE A BAD DOG.

    2. You are 110% WRONG and clearly know nothing about dogs.
IT IS NOT IN THEIR DNA TO MAUL HUMANS, ESPECIALLY KIDS.

First of all there is no such breed as a PIT BULL. There are Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Pit Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers. And when they were first bred they were put down immediately if they ever showed ANY aggression toward humans. People have taken advantage of many of their traits and used them for evil, not good and bred them with other breeds to create a monster dog.
And I guarantee that every one of these so called “Pit Bull” bites were by a MIXED BREED dog, not by a Pure Bred AMSTAFF, APBT or STAFFY. Just like kids, they learn what they live.

      1. Out of all my purebred dogs, my Pitt was a rescue, she was the most obedient, loving dog out of all the dogs I had prior. She did not need a leash, did not run away. Did not steal and asked if she wanted anything and waited for permission. She never messed inside and did not bark when told to be quiet. She loved children and being close and loved to cuddle and was a little pig when it came to snacks. I could reach in her food bowl or take anything out of her mouth. She never hurt the cat we had, only wanted to sniff her. She was a grown dog when I was pressed into service. I can say ,she was very smart and a very good dog and we where fortunate to have her loyalty.

  4. I have a pit bull named Python who has been around my kids for 7 years now, and he’s the best.
He sleeps with boys and they play well together.
It depends on the enviromement and the owner. If the owner is tough with the pet, well the pet will be the same way with other people.

    1. We’ve had our Pit for 15yrs and just had his 15th BD on Mother’s Day. He is the most loving dog we ever had and we have went through 8 g’children with him and they first thought he was a horse. Now they grew up with him. They do get a bad name and some don’t no how to raise them. Ours has always been in a loving home and everyone loves him. I don’t no why her pit is they way he is but there has to be a good reason because has a loving mother.

  5. I think Bravo staged all of this for ratings. This story sounds like a fake fight, a fake lawsuit for publicity.Kim is loving this.
