Kerri Walsh Jennings Was Pregnant At Olympics
Kerri Walsh Jennings who struck gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics with partner Misty May-Treanor made a surprise appearance on The Today Show on Monday to announce that she was 11 weeks pregnant.
The athlete who was accompanied by her husband Casey Jennings revealed that they were trying to get pregnant but did not expect it to happen during the games.
Jennings who is the mother of two young boys Joey, 3, and Sundance, 2 said that she learned that she was pregnant sometimes during the tournament but knew her body could handle a baby and the stress of competing for a gold medal.
The Olympian explained:
“When I was throwing my body around fearlessly and going for gold for our country, I was pregnant.”
Kerri Walsh Jennings’ baby is due on April 9th.You can watch the entire interview after the jump.
