A Justin Bieber lookalike has been found dead just days after his friends and family reported him missing.

Tobias Strebel, who also went by the name of Toby Sheldon, made headlines few months ago after revealing that he had spent over $100,000 to look like Justin Bieber.

On August 18, he was in the news again, but this time around for a more serious matter – he had vanished. On August 21, the body of the reality star was discovered in a Motel 6 in North Hills, California. He was 35 years old.

According to reports, drugs were found in the room, but it is not yet known how Mr. Strebel died. Bieber has not yet commented on the passing of Strebel. In 2014, the man appeared on E!’s plastic surgery reality show Botched, and on TLC’s My Strange Addiction, where he revealed that he initially wanted to just copy Justin Bieber’s bowl haircut because his hair was thinning.

Moreover, because he was hoping to become a singer and songwriter like Bieber, he became obsessed and had dozens of surgeries to look like the Canadian star. He said at the time:

“What brought me to Bieber was the whole package: the full cheeks, the full temples, the bright open eyes, the full luscious lips and spacial framing,” he said on “Botched” in 2004. “[He’s] just extraordinarily beautiful.”

He later explained the look he went for by saying:

“I want to look like Justin Bieber used to look when he was really young, and I just always bring the picture from him from two years ago to my surgeons and say, “Okay, this is what I want to model myself after.”

Botched star Dr. Paul Nassif, who spoke to Tobias Strebel while he was on the show, paid his condolences in a tweet that read:

“My deepest condolences go out to the family of Toby Sheldon. He was good person with a great heart.”

Nassif was one of the first people to report that the Bieber lookalike was missing and was asking social media commenters to pray for his safe return.
