Jon Huntsman Quits 2012 Presidential Race, To Endorse Mitt Romney – Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman is leaving the 2012 presidential race, days after failing to do very well in the New Hampshire primary.

According to sources close to the former Obama ambassador to China, he will make the news official on Monday.

Huntsman who was seen by Obama and his allies as the biggest threat to a 2012 win, never caught fire with a GOP base more inclined to move to the right.

Defeated in his one-state strategy, low on cash, polling in the low single-digit in South Carolina, Huntsman did not have much options left.

Mitt Romney, the current frontrunner in the Republican Party primary is probably the biggest beneficiary of Jon Huntsman dropping out.

Both politicians were after the moderate wing of their party.

Huntsman is also expected to endorse Romney on Monday.
