Jim Swilley GAY – The pastor of a megachurch in Georgia has recently decided to announce his homosexuality, after being driven to the tipping point when the 18-year old student from Rutgers University, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide after classmates aired footage of him in a sexual encounter with another man.

Jim Swilley is the founder and pastor of the Church in the Now, which he calls an inter-denominational Christian church, that is located in Conyers, Georgia. When discussing his decision to come out, Swilley said, “For some reason, his situation was kind of the tipping point with me. There comes a point in your life where you say–how much time do we have left in our lives? Are we going to be authentic or not?”

According to Swilley, he claims that he has known he was gay every since he was a child, but attempted to live life as a heterosexual, going so far as to get married twice. His former wife of 20 years still works at the church that they built together.

Swilley has four children from his two marriages, and said of the whole thing, “At a certain point, you are who you are.”
