The Jim Parsons engagement rumors are just that. “The Big Bang Theory” star has been dating art director Todd Spiewak since 2003, but they are not engaged. Parsons made the information abundantly clear this week.

Jim Parsons engagement stories like to appear in the tabloids, whenever the actor is in the press for an important career move. This time is no different. Parsons who recently got a pay hike on CBS’ hit comedy “The Big Bang Theory,” was all over the news last few weeks after he signed a contract extension.

Parsons’ salary on the show went from $325,000 per episode to $1 million plus bonuses. Costars Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting got similar deals. The end of the contract talks probably inspired the National Enquirer to print a fresh Jim Parsons engagement article.

Parsons took to Instagram on Friday to vehemently deny the engagement reports. The 41-year-old actor wrote:

Me and Todd in 2003. Still very happy today… And NOT engaged! #justFYI #NationalEnquirerMakesShitUp #duh

The actor also posted a picture from 2003 where he can be seen looking happy with his partner Spiewak.

This is not the first time, Parsons had to deny a story from the National Enquirer. Last year, the supermarket tabloid published a piece about The Normal Heart actor seeking surrogacy advice from “How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris.

The comedian hit back at the tabloid back then saying that although he knew Harris, they were not very close. Additionally, he was not very interested in having children.

In 2010, after Parsons won an Emmy, for his brilliant portrayal of Sheldon Cooper on “The Big Bang Theory,” National Enquirer explained that he was planning on getting married.

Despite the engagement denials, months later, the tabloid put out a rumor about it being called off because the lovers could not agree on having children. This will probably not be the last Jim Parsons engagement item printed by the National Enquirer.

The Wish I Was Here actor came out a gay man in 2012.
