Gunshots fired at Jeezy and T.I.’s event inside a Charlotte nightclub named Label on Saturday night, story goes viral. The two rappers did not get hurt during the incident.

T.I. and Jeezy‘s party in Charlotte turns into an epic chaos after shots were fired, two people got injured, but their lives are not in danger. T.I., Jeezy and Yo Gotti performed at the event, but they were all in the VIP room when the gunshots started ringing. Some media outlets reported that T.I. was on stage when the shots were fired, but it turns out that it was just one of his songs playing on the background. The shooting happened around 7 PM. Lil Wayne was also scheduled to appear at the event.

Charlotte police Captain J.D. Thomas spoke to USA Today and gave an update on the two people who got injured. Thomas said:

“Two people injured with gunshot wounds. One person drove themselves to the hospital and one person was transported by ambulance. Both are non-life-threatening injuries.”

The two people are still hospitalized, one of them is a woman. Police have not made any arrest and they have no suspect for the time being, but the investigation is continuing.

Selena Alexander, a blogger, who was covering the party for the website Elite Insiders, shared more details about the incident with USA Today. Alexander stated:

“It was packed. Two distinct gunshots rang out. The artists were immediately rushed out.”

The nightclub has put out a statement, it indicates that Label intends to go on with their original schedule for the celebrations around the C.I.A.A. basketball tournament. It reads:

“The exact circumstances concerning the incident have yet to be determined. It should be noted that there will continue to be very substantial security for all Label events during tournament weekend.”

Social media has captured the chaotic nature of what took place in Charlotte.

Some commentators have used this incident to illustrate the problem of violence in rap music and hip-hop culture. Few even went as far as suggesting that the black community and its leaders should address the matter the same way they spend time highlighting police brutality around the country.

What are your thoughts on the Charlotte nightclub shooting? Does race have something to do with this? Should people like Oprah and Al Sharpton speak out about this?

Here’s the difference. Going to a club is a choice. If you voluntarily put yourself in harms way then there are not going to be protests by the community. Let’s face it, when was the last time someone was shot at a Kenny G concert? never right? When was the last time someone was shot at a Chris Brown event? Yesterday maybe? You get my point. We have determined that the police choose to brutalize black people far beyond their white counterparts but the difference is I don’t have a choice if I want to black unless I use make up, it is something you clearly see.

This, in my opinion why you will see protests after police shootings and not after a “Rap” concert.
