Jakadrien Turner Returns Home – The Jakadrien Turner saga has finally come to an end.

Jakadrien Turner, a 15-year-old African-American who does not speak one word of Spanish was accidentally deported to Colombia after lying to police officers about her identity.

The teenager who resides in Texas ran away from home in November of 2010 and was arrested on April 2, 2011 for theft – that is when she revealed to Houston authorities that she was an illegal immigrant named Tika Lanay Cortez born in 1990.

Without properly verifying the trouble teen’s story, ICE shipped her to Colombia where officials in the Latin country refused to send her back to America once her real identity was established.

The family eventually contacted an attorney, Ray Jackson who asked the members of the National NAACP, congressional Black Caucus leaders to take action in order to get the Colombian government to send Turner back to Texas.

Late last night amidst of flood of reporters, the girl landed in Houston to find her mother and grandmother waiting for her.

ICE officials are investigating the matter as to why none of their officers bothered to verify her claims before deporting her.
